Providing a safe, family environment to men and women devastated by life-controlling problems
|
Hope House gives hope to hurting people by offering them something to eat, something to drink, something to wear, and someone to care. We believe that "giving to the least of these brothers" ministers to God's heart and prepares a way for His love to minister to theirs. Hope House is for individuals who need a safe and stable place: for the addict to overcome drugs or alcohol, for the parolee to find new direction, or for the widow to regain security and comfort. It is a place of healing from emotional hurts, a mending of wounded hearts. It is a place of hope.
Hope House combines a family atmosphere with a structured and disciplined living environment. The house and its variety of programs are run by staff and volunteers, ordinary people eager to share the unconditional love of Jesus.
Through normal day-to-day routines, men and women who stay at Hope House can learn basic life skills and improve their social skills as they find emotional and spiritual comfort and healing. Daily and weekly schedules include Bible studies, work duties (cleaning, cooking, lawn care), church service attendance, and group family times.
God said, "a bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out” (Isaiah 42:3). No one is left unseen by Him. At Hope House, the bruised reed and the smoldering wick are the people we have been called to serve and encourage. He will never forsake the weak; Hope House is one place where He answers their cry.

“Hope House was a place very unfamiliar to me, compared to the world I left. Strangers loved me. They even loved me when I was not so loving to them. When I was weak, the faith of the staff strenthened me and prayer surrounded me. I was confident in who I was becoming in Christ.” - Hope House graduate
