Sharing God's unconditional love for women in crisis pregnancy situations |
| ". . . that they may bear sons and daughters" is a critical part of God's word for New Orleans. It is a promise and a mandate that brings joy to His Father heart. |
| Spreading that joy is what motivates us to minister to the thousands of women who call or come by our crisis pregnancy center. It is the same joy many young girls and women discover when they choose life for their unborn children. The ministry of Living Alternatives is more than sharing information and alternatives to abortion. It is people helping people choose life. One time, a mother and her daughter emerged from the abortion clinic located next door to one of our centers. They headed for our Prayer Stand outside the clinic. "My daughter does not want an abortion, please help us," was the mother's plea. The daughter had intended get an abortion, but left because the clinic "had an evil feel about it" and because the nurse would not let her see her baby on the ultrasound monitor. Years ago, she explained, she had accepted Jesus as her Savior but had slipped away. She knew in her heart abortion was wrong and was thankful for the prayer stand because it reminded her how much Jesus loves her. This family now attends church and celebrates the life of a precious baby girl. Story after story tells of ladies like this whose lives have been changed because they picked up the phone or walked into one of our offices. Each of these contacts with our staff and volunteers is an opportunity for hurting women to hear about the love of Christ and receive compassionate prayer. Hundreds of the women who have chosen life for their unborn babies have also chosen to live their lives for Jesus. |
